Job Details Job Location: Sargent Drilling-GEN - Geneva, NE 68361 Job Purpose: The Mechanic at CHARLES SARGENT IRRIGATION INC is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of trucks and service trucks involved in water well construction and repair. This role is crucial to maintaining the efficiency and safety of operations, contributing to the company's commitment to delivering high-quality irrigation solutions. Key Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and repairs on trucks and service trucks to ensure they are operating safely and efficiently. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues in vehicles used for water well construction and repair, implementing effective solutions. Conduct regular inspections to identify potential problems and prevent breakdowns, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. Collaborate with the construction and repair teams to understand vehicle requirements and provide technical support when needed. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, tracking parts usage and labor to ensure accountability and transparency. Adhere to company safety standards and practices, promoting a safe working environment for all employees. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in vehicle maintenance technology to continually improve service quality. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Education High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in automotive or diesel mechanics preferred. Required Experience Experience in mechanical maintenance, specifically with trucks and service trucks. Experience in water well construction and repair is highly desirable. Proven track record of diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues effectively. Required Skills and Abilities Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of truck systems and components. Ability to perform routine maintenance and repairs on trucks and service trucks. Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify mechanical problems. Knowledge of water well construction and repair processes.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues and supervisors. Currently hold a CDL or the ability to obtain a CDL once hired. Commitment to safety protocols and procedures in all aspects of work.
