Store Manager In Training (SMIT) The SMIT program is a development-focused role designed to prepare employees for a CVS Store Manager position. Participants complete 16 weeks of self‑paced, collaborative training, combining virtual and in‑person learning experiences. Support comes from a District Leader, HR Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and a Store Manager coach. Key Skills Communicate effectively verbally and in writing to support and lead the team. Provide high‑level customer care and service. Execute merchandising strategies to drive store sales growth. Manage store inventory and assets to maintain profitability. Responsibilities and Expectations Actively engage with leaders in key learning experiences during the program. Support the store as a management team member and lead consistently with CVS values and policies. Engage colleagues in support of the company’s purpose of helping people on their path to better health. Be willing to accept promotion roles within the market. Work a schedule that may vary based on business needs. Qualifications High School diploma or GED (required). Bachelor’s degree (preferred). Retail management experience, or experience as a CVS Supervisor. Willingness to accept promotion to Store Manager at any location within the designated market. Ability to transfer to other CVS Pharmacy stores locations within the designated market. Weekly Hours 45 hours Time Type Full time Pay Range $18.50 – $23.88 per hour (base hourly rate or base annual full‑time salary, depending on the job grade).
