Process Assistant – Amazon Location: San Diego, CA Responsibilities Support and work in the department as required. Assist in managing department duties, including allocating labor, leading meetings, assigning job duties, and communicating with internal and external suppliers. Provide vacation coverage for Area Managers. Follow up on policy compliance; track attendance (discipline responsibilities are not included). Track and report ATS/labor hours. Assist associates on the floor by providing resources, training, and verifying SOP compliance. Ensure area performance by tracking, reporting, and providing feedback on associate performance. Participate in Operational Excellence initiatives in some capacity. Fill in on production duties as needed. Understand workflow and daily production goals. Review and update SOPs as required. Help keep the work area clean and organized. Identify and address safety hazards and refer all injuries immediately to the Area Manager. Coach associates to work safely at all times. Participate in safety initiatives. Communicate effectively and respectfully with employees, supervisors, and staff to ensure exceptional customer service. Basic Qualifications At least 1 year of experience with Microsoft Office products and applications. High school diploma or equivalent. Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays. Be able to lift up to 49 pounds, stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach. Work 40 hours per week, with overtime as required. Preferred Qualifications Education beyond high school and/or prior experience managing employees. Excellent interpersonal, problem‑solving, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills with all levels of Amazon associates and management. Experience with an FC Kaizen or Shingi event. Willingness to use OE tools and techniques. Experience working in Problem Solving initiatives. Leadership ability and respect from associates in the production area. Compensation and Benefits Base pay for this position ranges from $44,512 to $54,912 per year, depending on market location and job‑related skills and experience. Additional compensation may include equity, sign‑on payments, and other forms of total compensation, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
