As our Associate Design Director, you will …

Be Accountable and Responsible

You will play a pivotal role in shaping the visual narrative of a national home electronics brand through in-store communication experiences. Your journey as an Associate Design Director at MERGE promises a blend of creativity, leadership, and collaborative excellence. Your accountability extends across various responsibilities that define the essence of this role.

• Elevate Brands: Collaborate with your team to craft visually compelling designs, ensuring a consistent and premium presence across diverse channels for the home electronics brand
• Provide Visual Leadership: Oversee the production of high-quality assets, guaranteeing timely delivery within budget constraints while maintaining the highest standards of quality
• Get Dirty: Engage in all facets of design, from quick comping and creating design systems to type treatments, consistently delivering polished design solutions
• Collaborate: Work seamlessly with the creative team, account managers, developers, studio designers, and most importantly, clients, fostering a collaborative and synergistic environment
• Be a Mentor: Take on a mentorship role, guiding and inspiring other designers by providing valuable feedback and professional development opportunities
• Win Business: Actively participate in new business pitches, showcasing a clear vision of how your work addresses client challenges

These are the qualifications we're looking for

• 6-8 years design experience within a design shop, creative studio, or advertising agency, supported by a standout portfolio illustrating diverse design projects and creative solutions
• Bachelor's degree in design, graphic design, or a related field, and/or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Google G Suite.
• Proven ability to lead and inspire a team of designers, consistently driving the delivery of high-quality work
• Deep understanding of design systems and their effective implementation across digital and print platforms
• The capability to articulate multiple, differentiated creative concepts, assessing their merits in alignment with the brief and brand positioning
• Thriving in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while sustaining a high level of creativity and attention to detail
• Strong project management skills, enabling the seamless handling of multiple projects simultaneously
