Pediatric MRI Technologist

Monday - Friday, 1:30pm - 10pm EST, with holidays as needed.

Job Description

We are seeking a Pediatric MRI Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have an associate degree in magnetic resonance imaging or radiology, with certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) being a plus. The candidate must possess the ability to operate the MRI machine efficiently, provide comfort to patients during the scanning procedure, and effectively coordinate with physicians for timely results.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and safe scanning environment.
• Coordinate with physicians to deliver accurate diagnostic imaging.
• Prepare patients for scans and explain procedures to ensure comfort.
• Document all procedures while maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Adhere to all MRI safety policies and guidelines.
• Adjust scanning parameters for a variety of patient ages, from neonates to age 18.
• Screen and prepare patients for scanning while identifying contraindications for safe scanning.
• Determine when a scan must be stopped due to motion and assess the need for sedation/anesthesia.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• At least two years of MRI Technologist experience.
• Experience with Siemens scanners is mandatory.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Level 1 Trauma Center experience preferred.
• A minimum of six months of pediatric experience required.
• Must have or be willing to obtain an NYS Rad Tech License prior to starting.
