Activities Director – Full-Time

Chesterton Manor is seeking an experienced Activities Director to join our skilled nursing facility in Chesterton, IN .

The Activities Director plans, organizes, implements, evaluates, and directs the Activity Program to ensure the emotional, recreational, social, spiritual, and individual needs of residents are met and maintained.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and create a monthly activity calendar, including movies, parties, games, projects, crafts, resources, and field trips.

• Identify and monitor the spiritual, social, recreational, and emotional needs of residents through routine interviews, visits, and consultations with residents and families.

• Encourage residents to develop physical and educational skills through participation in activities.

• Ensure nursing supervisors assist residents with activity selection in compliance with physicians' orders.

• Manage resident shopping requests.

• Assist with managing the smoking program.

• Coordinate monthly Resident Council meetings .

• Post and document resident activities in PointClickCare (PCC) .

• Evaluate activity programs and resident participation to ensure activities remain meaningful and individualized.

Education & Qualifications:

• Certified Activity Director with long-term care experience preferred , or previous experience working under a Certified Activity Consultant required.

• NCCAP certification required.

• Must be 18 years of age or older .

• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members.

• COVID-19 vaccination required unless an approved exemption is presented upon hiring.
