Responsibilities Expose to diverse experiences across medical and surgical patient care in multiple units. Thrive in an ever‑changing environment, adapting to various roles and responsibilities as needed. Receive comprehensive orientation and continuous training to foster skill development. Contribute to maintaining a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Perform physical demands such as sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, and bending as required by diverse assignments. Qualifications Diploma or Baccalaureate degree in Nursing. Current registration & in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario. Current BCLS certificate. Current Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia Interpretation certificate. Crisis Intervention Training required or obtained within 3 months of hire. Minimum two years’ current experience in medicine and/or surgery units within a hospital setting. Knowledge and competence in vascular therapy (including peripheral and central vascular access devices). Excellent physical assessment skills. Oncologic and palliative nursing experience. Experience in managing complex pain and symptoms related to disease processes and palliation. Experience in managing post‑operative patients including epidural monitoring. Participation in annual professional education and mandatory organizational education. Strong critical thinking and crisis intervention abilities. Reliability in attending work regularly. Ongoing professional education in the related clinical area. Additional Skills Supportive emotional care to the patient and their family/significant others from all diverse backgrounds. Emotional intelligence to navigate high‑stress situations with empathy, self‑awareness, and professionalism. Trauma‑informed care supporting a positive patient‑centered environment. Flexibility regarding assignment locations, including reassignment across all areas of the hospital as needed. Commitment to multidisciplinary, team‑centered patient care environments. Keyboarding skills and proficiency with Meditech, Omni Cell, and Cerner Health Information Systems. Employment Conditions As per the O.N.A.
