Custodian – 1.0 FTELocation/Hours: Dexter High School; Monday – Friday / 2:30 PM – 11:00 PMSummary: We are looking for an afternoon custodian to uphold the cleanliness and safety standards at Dexter High School. The individual will be responsible for performing daily general cleaning tasks both inside and outside the premises to ensure a clean, hygienic, organized, and appealing environment. The ideal candidate should be reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.Days/Hours:Monday - Friday ~ 2:30PM to 11:00PMCompensation:$17.62 per hourPaid Leave DaysPension plan through Michigan Public School Employees Retirement System (MPSERS)Retirement Savings Plans 403B and 457 Retirement PlansMedical BenefitsResponsibilities:Perform cleaning duties in various areas such as rooms, hallways, lobbies, restrooms, and corridors as assignedSweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum hallways, stairs, and office spacesPolish and wax floors, as well as clean and extract rugs and carpetsDust furniture and equipmentEmpty trash containers and dispose of wasteWash windows, door panels, sills, and other general areasReplenish restroom supplies and maintain cleanlinessRefill cleaning and general supplies in classrooms or rooms upon requestConduct minor repairs and maintenance tasks within the buildingReport major repair needs to managementClear snow and debris from sidewalks and designated areas, and salt icy surfacesArrange tables and chairs in auditoriums, rooms, or halls as neededAddress minor cleanups or accidents promptlyFollow established safety protocols and proceduresAssists in other areas as directed by building principal or supervisorRequirements:High school diploma or equivalentPrevious custodial experience preferredAbility to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting, and overhead workCapable of working independently and collaboratively with a teamMust have reliable transportation as travel within the district is required throughout the dayAbility to work with administration, staff and bargaining unit membersStrong attention to detailPunctuality and regular attendance are essentialExcellent communication skillsMethod of Application:Internal candidates must submit a letter of interest to Brian Schuler and Barb Leonard by 4pm on the internal posting deadline.
