Store Manager

The Store Manager is responsible for the successful operation and profitability of the store which includes training, directing and monitoring all department staff.

Responsibilities include greeting and servicing customers per company standards of World Class customer service, providing professional leadership for the staff and the store, showing the highest level of respect and integrity in day-to-day actions, handling customer complaints appropriately, ensuring the store is inviting and shoppable, maintaining in-stock products, handling special orders appropriately, answering the phone per company standards, training staff on exemplary customer service, ensuring staff compliance with food safety certifications, meeting and exceeding store and department sales expectations, managing perishables, managing mark-downs, assisting customers in all areas of the store, training and monitoring staff, ensuring accurate and complete schedules, assigning tasks daily, partnering with department managers, ensuring adequate product knowledge, completing store staff performance evaluations, interviewing and hiring for store needs, addressing performance and disciplinary issues, maintaining clear communication with store staff, ensuring safety guidelines are followed, managing business disruptions, making timely Ultimate edits, proactively hiring, training and developing store staff, training new store management, encouraging staff to increase nutritional and product knowledge, monitoring all departments, completing operational responsibilities, completing store paperwork and reports, efficiently completing the DSR and Manager's Cash, communicating all issues with home office, maintaining store appearance and cleanliness, responding to department manager calls, working flexible schedules, supporting home office decisions, reading and following communications from home office, and remaining flexible to changing work demands.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 1-2 years management experience in grocery and/or related retail experience, natural foods industry a plus, ability to manage changing priorities, ability to pass food safety training courses and obtain certifications, ability to obtain forklift certification, maintaining compliance with food safety certifications, sense of urgency in task completion, excellent customer service skills, high organization with attention to detail, cashier training, and proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
