Position SummaryThe Finance Professional is responsible for leading all accounting operations across Huber's family of businesses. This is a hands-on, highly visible role that requires both technical depth and the interpersonal ability to work effectively in a family-owned, multigenerational environment. This position will serve as a key resource to ownership in financial reporting, strategic planning, compliance, and the continued development of financial systems and controls across all divisions.The Finance Professional will work in close collaboration with the company's existing Treasury function, which oversees banking relationships and cash management, ensuring a seamless and well-coordinated financial operation across all entities.Huber's is a seventh-generation, family-owned agritourism and beverage alcohol enterprise operating across multiple business divisions including farming and agriculture, a winery, a distillery, retail, a farm market, a café, event facilities, and a play park. We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead all accounting and financial functions across the enterprise and serve as a trusted financial partner to ownership and senior leadership.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Leadership and ReportingLead all day-to-day accounting functions including financial reporting, general ledger management, auditing, compliance, internal controls, inventory, and payments system.Prepare and deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements across all business entitiesDevelop and maintain division-level profit and loss statements for each operating divisionProvide strategic financial analysis and insights to ownership and senior leadershipLead budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with department and division leadersAccounting OperationsOwn the month-end and year-end close processesOversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll administration, and general ledger reconciliationManage cash flow forecasting and reportingAdminister document retention programs and ensure compliance with recordkeeping requirementsOversee and optimize QuickBooks Enterprise across all entities and divisionsCompliance and ControlsEnsure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local tax requirements including IN state taxEstablish and enforce standard operating procedures to protect company assetsDesign, implement, and strengthen internal controls across all business unitsCoordinate with external CPA firm, legal counsel, banking partners, and other outside advisors as neededSystems and Process ImprovementEvaluate, implement, and administer accounting systems and technologyIdentify and execute opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve reporting accuracyDevelop financial dashboards and KPI reporting tools to support leadership decision-makingBuild and document accounting procedures and controls where gaps existLeadership and CollaborationWork closely with and provide guidance to accounting staff, HR, and IT functionsPartner with department and division heads to support operational and financial goalsCommunicate financial information clearly and effectively to ownership and non-financial managersCollaborate closely with the Treasury function on banking relationships, cash management, and cash flow coordination across all business entitiesSupport the onboarding and development of accounting team membersQualificationsRequiredBachelor’s degree in accounting or financeMinimum 10 years of progressive accounting experience with at least 5 years in a senior accounting roleDemonstrated experience managing financial operations in a multi-entity environmentHands-on experience with cost accounting, inventory valuation, and manufacturing or production accountingProficiency with QuickBooks Enterprise, including PO and Inventory Management Control.Knowledge of GAAP, accrual accounting, financial reporting, inventory mgmt. and internal controlsIndiana state and federal tax knowledgeExceptional written and verbal communication skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsHigh integrity, discretion, and professionalismPreferredCPA designation strongly preferredExperience in beverage alcohol manufacturing — winery, distillery, or breweryFamiliarity with TTB compliance and reportingExperience in agriculture, farm operations, retail, hospitality, or agritourismFamily-owned or closely held business #J-18808-Ljbffr Huber
