Accounting Associate

ProspectBlue is partnering with a well-established nonprofit organization in Central Virginia that is looking to add an Accounting Associate to their team!

This is a great opportunity for someone with 23 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience who enjoys being hands-on and wants to be part of a collaborative finance team.

What youll be doing:

Manage Accounts Payable, including invoice entry, coding, approvals, and vendor payments

Review and process employee expense reports

Reconcile credit card transactions, purchase orders, and receipts

Prepare daily receipt/payment reconciliation files

Assist with weekly check runs and payment processing

Respond to vendor and employee payment questions

Support month-end close, account reconciliations, audits, and other accounting projects

Work closely with the VP of Finance and other internal teams

What we are looking for:

23 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience

Associates degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred

Strong attention to detail and follow-through

Organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills

Experience with an accounting/ERP system

Nonprofit accounting experience is a plus

Currently in or willing to relocate to Central Virginia

Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow issues through to resolution

Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
