CVICU Registered Nurse (RN)We are seeking a dedicated CVICU Registered Nurse (RN) with a minimum of 1 year of experience. First-time travelers with at least 2 years of extensive CVICU or open heart experience will also be considered. This position involves caring for adult and geriatric patients following cardiac surgeries.Contract DetailsContract Length: 13 weeksShift: Day shift, 3x12 hours (07:30 AM - 08:00 PM)Weekend Requirement: Every other weekendHoliday Requirement: Required as scheduledUnit InformationAverage Daily Census: 6 patientsNumber of Beds: 8 bedsPatient to Nurse Ratio: 1:2 in CVICU/CCRU; 1:3 if floated to IMC (lower acuity)Patient PopulationThis role focuses on the immediate post-operative care of cardiac surgery patients, as well as patients with various conditions, including:Cardiac Surgery: CABG, valve repairs, CABG/valve combinations, CAD - STEMI, NSTEMI, AFIB with RVR, cardiogenic shockVascular Procedures: Peripheral bypasses, EVARThoracic Procedures: VATSRequired Skills and CertificationsActive RN license in the state of employmentBLS certificationACLS certificationSpecial Procedures and Unit DetailsThe CVICU RN will be responsible for:Providing immediate post-operative care for cardiac surgery patientsUtilizing advanced equipment for patient management, including:Ventilator management with respiratory therapyFlo Trac monitoringContinuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP)Impella supportManagement of groin and radial artery access (femoral stop, TR bands)Floating RequirementsFloating may be required within the specialty, including to the IMC, and lower acuity areas as needed.
