A Shipping Coordinator 1 is typically an entry-level logistics and shipping support role responsible for coordinating outgoing shipments, maintaining shipping records, and ensuring timely delivery of products. Responsibilities:
Shipping Coordinator 1 – Typical Job Responsibilities
- Prepare and process shipping documents such as bills of lading, packing slips, labels, and invoices
- Coordinate daily shipments with carriers, freight companies, and internal departments
- Schedule pickups and deliveries
- Track shipments and update shipment status in company systems
- Verify accuracy of orders, quantities, and shipping information
- Ensure shipments comply with company policies and transportation regulations
- Communicate with warehouse staff, customer service, and vendors regarding shipping issues
- Resolve routine shipping discrepancies, delays, or damaged shipment claims
- Maintain shipping logs, inventory records, and filing systems
- Assist with inventory control and cycle counts as needed
- Operate shipping software, ERP systems, or transportation management systems (TMS)
- Support receiving and warehouse operations when required
- Follow safety procedures and workplace standards
Common Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic computer and data entry skills
- Familiarity with shipping software and Microsoft Office
- Good organizational and communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Prior warehouse or logistics experience preferred but often not required
