Clinical / Medical Laboratory Scientist - Travel Job

Jackson HealthPros is hiring a Clinical / Medical Laboratory Scientist (formerly Medical Technologist) to perform diagnostic testing on patient samples and analyze test results for accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits to aid physicians in the diagnosis or monitoring of various disease states.

Minimum Requirements:

• Associate or bachelor's degree in related field as required by individual clients
• Valid ASCP or AMT certification required
• In licensure states, Laboratory Licensure in appropriate specialty for the department or location assignment as applicable to the state
• 1 year of experience as a CLS / MLS / Med Tech
• BLS certification
• Completion of an accredited MLT/CLS or MT/MLS program
• Ability to work independently during the shift
• Experience performing testing in Blood Bank, Urinalysis, Chemistry, Hematology, and Serology
• Experience with phlebotomy and arterial blood gas collection

Assignment Details

• Three 12-hour shifts per week
• Works independently as the sole laboratory professional on site during the shift
• Responsible for laboratory testing across multiple disciplines, including Blood Bank, Urinalysis, Chemistry, Hematology, and Serology
• Performs analyzer maintenance and quality control procedures
• Processes Emergency Department specimens, including phlebotomy and arterial blood gas collection
• Tests clinic specimens delivered after hours
• Completes scheduled inpatient and floor laboratory draws each morning
• Communicates critical laboratory values to providers in accordance with hospital policy
