Operations Director – Mechanical ConstructionWe are hiring an Operations Director – Mechanical Construction to support the continued growth of our New Construction division in Texas. This role is responsible for leading teams delivering large, complex projects while setting and executing strategies, goals, and performance objectives. Key responsibilities include overseeing all project activities, functions, and resource allocation; assigning and managing project responsibilities across team members; serving as the primary client point of contact during project execution; holding full financial accountability, including accurate and timely reporting; ensuring adherence to company policies, procedures, and compliance standards; providing stakeholders with clear, timely updates to support decision-making; collaborating across departments including project management, sales, estimating, accounting, and purchasing; managing billing processes, ensuring timely client payments and subcontractor payouts; overseeing preconstruction budgets, estimates, and change orders; leading monthly project financial reviews (ETC) and maintaining change logs; ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within scope; recruiting, developing, and managing high-performing teams; building strong relationships with field leadership and trade foremen; supporting project planning and coordination as designs evolve; managing a portion of annual sales in alignment with departmental goals; advising clients on financial, contractual, and technical project matters; partnering with business leaders and clients across a large portfolio; taking full ownership of assigned projects and driving successful outcomes; and integrating and aligning multiple business units for cohesive project delivery.Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience; 10–15 years of construction project management experience; 5+ years managing data center projects; strong expertise in mechanical and/or electrical systems; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio); experience with scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, or SureTrak; familiarity with construction financial systems and software; solid understanding of building codes, equipment selection, and system layout best practices; experience with preconstruction and basic estimating; knowledge of low voltage systems (HVAC controls, fire alarm, security) preferred; RCDD or CPM certifications preferred; working knowledge of SharePoint is a plus.This role requires a strategic leader with strong technical depth, financial acumen, and the ability to manage complex construction projects while developing high-performing teams and maintaining strong client relationships.Job Type & Location: This is a Permanent position based out of Round Rock, TX.Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $230000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
