The Childcare & Recreation Manager oversees the childcare and recreation services. Supervision of Assistant Teachers and Recreation Assistants, and liaison with funder and regulatory agencies. Bushwick Family Residence is a transitional family shelter where residents learn essential skills that enable them to meet the challenges of everyday life. To learn more about the program, copy and paste this link into a browser: Location: Brooklyn, NY 11207 Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree Four years work experience with a similar population, of which two years were in a supervisory capacity; or a satisfactory combination of education and experience. Childcare & Recreation Manager Principal Responsibilities Manage instructional environment in a manner that fosters learning and growth. Supervise classroom aides. Direct classroom activities on a daily basis. Prepare daily activity schedule and coordinate with other disciplines. Evaluate student progress on an ongoing basis, maintaining necessary records. Write annual goals, behavioral objectives, and intervention strategies for students. Assess developmental functioning and learning skills of students in all areas, at regularly planned intervals. Consult and interface with colleagues on team on all phases of student program. Make parent contacts, provide for transition of instruction to home, and assure parent partnership, make home visits, and invite parents for school visits. Maintain daily lesson plan book which displays instruction in all content areas. Supervises assigned staff.
