Location: Fort Collins, CO 80524 Employment Type: Full-Time Pay: Up to $25.00 per hour Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday | Availability as per Business Requirement Position Overview Citadel Security USA is seeking a motivated and experienced Field Training Officer (FTO) to support officer development, operational consistency, and quality assurance across multiple client locations in the Fort Collins area. This position plays a critical role in preparing new officers for success while reinforcing company standards among existing personnel. The Field Training Officer serves as a mentor, coach, and operational resources, helping ensure officers understand site expectations, reporting requirements, safety procedures, and client‑specific responsibilities. The ideal candidate is confident leading by example, enjoys developing others, and can effectively balance training responsibilities with field‑based operational support. Key Responsibilities Officer Training & Development Conduct field training for newly hired security personnel during onboarding assignments Demonstrate proper patrol procedures, report‑writing practices, and site‑specific responsibilities Review of post orders, operational directives, and client expectations with assigned officers Evaluate officer readiness and provide practical instruction in real‑world environments Reinforce company policies, professional standards, and security best practices Coaching & Performance Support Observe officer performance during live assignments and provide constructive feedback Identify areas where additional training, guidance, or reinforcement may be needed Assist officers in developing confidence, decision‑making skills, and situational awareness Promote accountability, professionalism, and consistent job performance Support ongoing development initiatives for both new and existing personnel Site Visits & Operational Oversight Travel between assigned locations to conduct field evaluations and training activities Assess site conditions and verify compliance with client requirements and post orders Review patrol practices, documentation standards, and operational proceduresSupport supervisors by identifying operational challenges and recommending solutions Maintain positive working relationships with site contacts and client representatives Documentation & Communication Complete training records, observation reports, and performance evaluations accurately Provide regular updates to management regarding trainee progress and development Document coaching sessions, corrective guidance, and follow‑up actions when applicable Communicate professionally with officers, supervisors, clients, and company leadership Assist with maintaining training‑related records and compliance documentation Minimum Requirements Active Guard Card required Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving history Personal firearm required in accordance with company policy and applicable laws Reliable personal vehicles available for travel between locations Previous security experience required Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings or overnight hours when needed Professional appearance and dependable work history Ability to mentor, instruct, and support personnel in field environments Preferred Qualifications Previous Field Training Officer, Lead Officer, Supervisor, or Trainer experience Armed security experience and familiarity with armed post requirements Experience conducting performance evaluations or coaching employees Knowledge of patrol operations, incident reporting, and security documentation Experience supporting operations across multiple sites or geographic areas Strong organizational and time‑management skills Work Environment Travel between multiple client locations throughout the service area Indoor and outdoor assignments Walking, standing, driving, and conducting site inspections Direct interaction with officers, supervisors, clients, and management teams Flexible scheduling based on training needs and operational priorities Independent work combined with collaborative leadership responsibilities Why Join Citadel Security USA?
