Registered Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide high-quality respiratory care to patients in critical care and general medical settings. The ideal candidate will deliver life-support therapies, perform respiratory assessments and diagnostic procedures, administer medical gas therapies, and collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure exceptional patient outcomes. This role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced hospital environment. Key Responsibilities Assess, treat, and monitor patients requiring respiratory therapy services in critical care and general practice units. Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, medical gases, ventilator support, and other respiratory interventions as prescribed. Perform invasive and non-invasive respiratory diagnostic procedures and interpret patient responses. Provide life-support, resuscitation, airway management, and emergency respiratory care when needed. Monitor patient progress, evaluate treatment effectiveness, and communicate findings to physicians and the healthcare team. Accurately document patient assessments, treatments, responses, and billing information in the electronic medical record. Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot respiratory therapy equipment to ensure safe operation. Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, treatments, and equipment usage. Supervise and mentor respiratory therapy staff, students, and new team members as assigned. Maintain compliance with hospital policies, infection prevention standards, and respiratory care best practices. Qualifications Associate of Science Degree from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program required. Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy preferred. Minimum 2 years of recent Registered Respiratory Therapist experience required. Current National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Registration (RRT) required. Current Michigan Respiratory Therapist License required. Current BLS (AHA) certification required. Strong knowledge of respiratory therapy procedures, life-support equipment, ventilator management, and respiratory diagnostics. Excellent critical thinking, communication, and patient care skills. Ability to work independently and effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
