Communications Specialist

Salary/Pay Rate: $59,405 - $74,256 Annually, plus excellent benefits Posted Date: 09/16/2026 1:45 PM Deadline to Apply: 09/30/2026 The Communications Specialist performs professional and administrative work to prepare, coordinate and maintain City digital communications including intranet, website and social media; internal, public and community relations communications; and public awareness of programs and events. Establishes and maintains professional relations with public officials, partner agencies, public, and news media. Check out the great benefits the City has to offer. Minimum Qualifications Associate’s degree in public relations, English, communications, journalism, or related field or two years related work experience Some experience or internship in public relations, communications, media, or related field Valid NC driver’s license or valid out-of-state driver’s license with the ability to obtain a valid NC driver’s license within sixty days of employment and good driving record Work Schedule Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.
