Manager, Corporate Accounting

Job Summary The Manager, Corporate Accounting is responsible for leading a team focused on accounting for the organization’s corporate entities, overseeing key accounting processes across all business segments, and acting as an advisor to business leaders on unique and complex transactions affecting the corporate segment. This role emphasizes continuous improvement, process optimization, and trusted advisory to internal stakeholders while supporting the development of the Corporate Accounting Team. Responsibilities Ensure all necessary general ledger entries for assigned entities are identified and recorded timely to facilitate the monthly accounting close. Determine appropriate accounting treatment for complex transactions, such as new debt instruments, acquisitions, divestitures, system implementations, and corporate software, collaborating with the Accounting Research team as needed. Operate, test, and maintain the adequacy of internal controls related to the monthly accounting close. Approve journal entries, account reconciliations, trial balances, and schedules used for SEC filings. Oversee the preparation and review of schedules for regulatory filings, including the FERC Form 60. Coordinate audit schedule preparation and interact with internal and external auditors. Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes. Coach, develop, and provide feedback to staff. Education Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university; CPA certification required. Experience Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least two years of managerial experience. Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP. Proficiency in SAP, Blackline, and Excel.
