What We\'re Looking For

We\'re seeking a seasoned product expert who\'s led the development of products and customer-focused innovation at scale. Experience delivering IoT products and solutions is a plus. This role requires a passion for end-user experience, and the leadership presence to drive effectively with executives and high-level customer representatives.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy

• Develop ideas for products and features that will delight Afero's customers.
• Contribute to the overall Afero Platform vision and roadmap.
• Perform competitive analysis for your products and features.
• Define and measure KPIs for your products and features.

Customers and Go-to-Market

• Work with Customers, Sales, and Business Development to understand market needs.
• Own customer success for critical accounts.
• Craft customer-facing product messaging aligned with key value propositions.
• Support Sales and Business Development by providing materials and presenting to customers and partners as needed.

Product Execution

• Define roadmaps and user stories for products and features built to run on the Afero platform.
• Perform day-to-day inbound Product Management in a scrum-based environment, working directly with Hardware, Firmware, and Cloud engineering teams, Program Management, and QA.
• Prioritize and provide product management support for 3rd-party certifications in your areas of responsibility.
• Work with manufacturing partners around the world to jointly develop product requirements and deliver successful outcomes.

Required Qualifications

• 5-7 years of Product Management experience scaling established products and platforms in Smart Home or other consumer-related platforms.
• Experience with B2B2C at scale, serving multiple manufacturers or partners who build on them.
• Experience with go-to-market in a partnership framework.
• Preferred: Experience defining AI-powered features that improve engagement and retention in consumer products.
• Preferred: Experience working with OEM/ODM partners and global manufacturing supply chains.
• Preferred: Experience with retail or channel partner programs.
• Preferred: Hands-on experience using AI tools to accelerate product discovery, specification, and delivery.

Domain Knowledge

• Demonstrable understanding of consumer devices and ecosystems, and IoT industry standards and trends, e.g. Smart home standards
• Understanding of security concepts as they apply to IoT and related technologies.
• Preferred: Background in cybersecurity or connected-device security.

$175,000 - $205,000 a year

The US base salary range for this full-time position is expected to be $175,000 - $205,000. Actual pay is determined by a range of factors including work location, job-related skills and experience, relevant education, training or certifications, and other business and organizational needs. At Afero, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. This range reflects base salary only; Afero also offers competitive benefits and equity compensation, which are not included in these numbers.
