Schedule

This is a 13-week contract position with a 4x10 hour shift. The position requires days, weekends, holidays, and on-call/callback duties as needed, with call 1-2 times per week and 1-2 weekends of call per month.

Job Description

The Interventional Radiology Radiologic Technologist is responsible for producing high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety and comfort. The ideal candidate will have a background in Neurosurgery/Neuroscience and interventional radiology, with the ability to perform various radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate competence in selecting exposure factors and positioning for radiologic images.
• Work collaboratively with all department members to resolve issues expediently.
• Display flexibility, compassion, and respect while interacting with patients and staff.
• Administer oral contrast as needed for exams and prepare patients for procedures.
• Assist Radiologists during interventional procedures.
• Operate all imaging equipment competently, including x-ray, CR, and DR systems.
• Report equipment malfunctions to management.
• Manage medication security and confidentiality of patient information.
• Participate in hospital performance improvement activities.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS certification (American Heart Association ONLY).
• Two years of experience in radiology, with a preference for interventional radiology.
• Active Technician License in New York.
• AART certification is required; VIR certification is a plus.
• Experience in Neurosurgery/Neuroscience is mandatory.
