Interventional Cardiologist Needed Western Pennsylvania Interventional Cardiology November 6, 2026 Ongoing WPA Medicine Staffing is seeking a Board-Certified Interventional Cardiologist for ongoing coverage beginning November 6, 2026. This opportunity focuses primarily on STEMI call coverage, with additional opportunities for weekday clinical and cath lab coverage. Assignment Highlights Start Date: November 6, 2026 Coverage Type: Locums Specialty: Interventional Cardiology Commitment: 3 weekends per month of STEMI call; additional 1 2 weekday shifts may be available Call: 5:00 PM 7:00 AM night call and 7:00 AM 7:00 AM 24-hour call Response Time: 30 minutes for STEMI Average Calls: 0 2 per 24-hour shift Average Admissions While on Call: 0 Patient Population: 100% adult EMR: Cerner Work Model: Solo coverage Travel: Mileage, airfare, lodging, parking, rental car/fuel, and ground transportation available Flexible Call Options The site has flexibility and would like candidates to indicate which coverage model they are available for: Friday at 5:00 PM through Monday morning Thursday at 5:00 PM through Monday morning 24-hour call coverage from Thursday through Monday morning 24-hour call coverage from Friday through Monday morning Please specify the locum's preferred coverage option when submitting. Clinical Scope The Interventional Cardiologist will provide STEMI and interventional cardiology coverage, including cardiac catheterization procedures. The site performs diagnostic and PCI procedures and does not have cardiac surgery backup . Typical cases and procedures include: Coronary cases Diagnostic cardiac catheterizations Coronary catheterizations/PCI TEE Cardioversion Temporary pacemaker placement Cath lab coverage Inpatient and outpatient cardiology coverage Non-invasive cardiac imaging interpretation General cardiology call is separate from interventional cardiology call. Weekday Coverage Additional weekday coverage may be available 1 2 days per week. If the provider begins at 7:00 AM on Thursday or Friday , responsibilities may include: Scheduled procedures Inpatient and outpatient coverage Non-invasive reading Cath lab coverage Typical daily volumes include approximately 2 4 inpatient patients and 2 3 outpatient patients . APP coverage is available during daytime hours. Requirements Board Certified in Interventional Cardiology Active Pennsylvania medical license or willing to obtain a PA license Pennsylvania DEA BLS ACLS Minimum 1 year of experience Must be comfortable providing STEMI call coverage Must be able to respond within 30 minutes for STEMI emergencies Comfortable working independently Experience with coronary interventions required Why WPA Medicine Staffing?
