This position will provide coverage to the West Branch, Rose City, St. Helen and Fairview markets. This role will be based out of the Rose City office. Primary responsibilities Performs and completes in an efficient and courteous manner the teller servicing of transactions, deposits, withdrawals, payments on loans, and check cashing within the established policies and procedures. Maintain a cash drawer and balance the drawer daily. Promotes and enhances customer relations by projecting a positive image of the bank, department and self by providing quality service to all customers. Initiates sales, actively pursues cross-sell opportunities, and assures proper servicing and referrals with the appropriate personnel using Mercantile's Customer Relationship Management System (360 View). Meets or exceeds sales goals. Answer the telephone and directs customer inquiries to appropriate bank personnel. Why Mercantile Bank? Strong sales and customer service skills, coupled with patience and friendliness, are necessary to provide an outstanding experience for every customer. Requirements: Prioritizing, Multitasking and Organized Cash handling with accuracy with the ability to effectively count cash back to customers Ability to type and enter data with accuracy via computer systems Needs Based Selling Skills Attention to Detail Function well in a fast-paced and at times stressful environment Effective and Efficient Interpersonal Communication Skills (Verbal and Written) Ability to travel to locations around our central market A high school education or GED or Equivalent job-related education and/or experience will be considered if the necessary knowledge Schedule Monday - Friday 8:30am-5:00pm, some Saturdays - 8:30am-12:30pm.
