Duties And Responsibilities Instill Safety as a top priority Provide on‑site supervision and direction to crew members Be familiar with project specifications and be able to understand plans Establish and adjust work sequences to meet schedule, using knowledge of equipment capacities and assigned personnel Ensure crew time cards are filled out and submitted weekly Fill out daily foreman reports Analyze and resolve issues that may arise unexpectedly Explain and understand survey and grade staking (Lasers, Transits, and GPS) Manage all excavating activities for your crew Other duties may be assigned Experience, Education & Skills Minimum of 5 years as a foreman/supervisor in highway heavy civil construction Willingness to travel Knowledge of OSHA standards and practices Familiarity with heavy equipment Ability to work outside in all weather conditions Valid Driver’s License Ability to work with tools and equipment such as power and non‑power tools Frequently sit, stand, walk, crouch, kneel, climb and periodically lift up to 50 lbs Positive attitude and excellent motivational skills Strong time management, multitasking, and prioritization skills Good attention to detail and ability to recognize discrepancies Ames Construction is an equal opportunity employer.
