Shift Details : Speech Language Pathologist to treat infants in the Special Care Nursery on an as needed basis - no set schedule or hours for this position.
Job Summary:
The Speech/Language Pathologist provides comprehensive speech therapy services to the patient by assessing, planning, implementing, and documenting patient care and treatment programs. The therapist also participates in varied Rehabilitation Services department activities designed to enhance patient care and programs. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:
Master's degree in Speech Pathology is required.
LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:
State of Wisconsin license in Speech-Language Pathology is required. Certificate of Clinical Competence (C.C.C.) as awarded by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association is required or must be obtained within 18 months of hire. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 3 months of hire.

Froedtert Health is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide specialized care to infants in our Special Care Nursery on an as-needed basis.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced or interested SLP to bring their clinical expertise into a specialized neonatal environment while supporting some of our tiniest and most vulnerable patients and their families.
Why This Opportunity Is Different
This is an as-needed position with no set schedule or guaranteed hours, offering flexibility for an SLP who may be looking to supplement their current practice, maintain clinical skills, or expand their experience working with infants in a hospital setting.
You’ll work alongside an interdisciplinary care team to provide thoughtful, patient-centered speech and feeding therapy services based on the needs of the Special Care Nursery.
What You’ll Do
Provide comprehensive speech-language pathology services to infants in the Special Care Nursery.
Assess patients and develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical needs.
Implement and document appropriate therapy interventions and patient care plans.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
Support family-centered care through communication, education, and collaboration.
Participate in Rehabilitation Services activities and initiatives designed to enhance patient care.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Bring
Required:
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
Current Wisconsin license in Speech-Language Pathology.
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, or ability to obtain within 18 months of hire.
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or an AHA-approved equivalent, within 3 months of hire.
Ideal Experience:
Experience working with infants, pediatric patients, or in an acute-care hospital setting is highly valued.
Experience or interest in neonatal feeding, swallowing, and developmental care is a plus.
Strong clinical judgment, communication, and collaboration skills.
