Lipid Nanoparticle & mRNA Synthesis Intern - Marlborough, MA

As a Research Intern (Lipid Nanoparticle & mRNA Synthesis), you will contribute to the full product development cycle-from concept to prototype-and collaborate closely with engineers and scientists in a multidisciplinary environment. *Onsite role based at our Marlborough, MA site* What you will accomplish together with us: Conduct systematic experiments of in vitro transcription (IVT) reaction on benchtop bioreactors; collect and analyze the data. Develop and execute protocols for preparing and characterizing nucleic acid-loaded lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulations using automated LNP synthesis platforms. Support LNP process development activities, including screening, scale-up, and manufacturing-relevant workflow optimization. Troubleshoot issues with experimental design and execution. Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data; prepare technical summaries and present results in internal meetings and reviews. What will convince us: Education Current graduate student in biomedical, chemical, mechanical engineering, or related field with formal education and experience with lipid nanoparticles and/or nucleic acids. Experience Hands-on laboratory experience with RNA synthesis, preferably including in vitro transcription. Experience with LNP formulation and characterization, including techniques such as dynamic light scattering (DLS), nanoparticle tracking analysis (NTA), RiboGreen assay, HPLC, chromatography, capillary electrophoresis, ELISA, or related assays. Ideal to have an experience with one or more of the following: dynamic light scattering (DLS), nanoparticle tracking analysis, RiboGreen assay, HPLC, chromatography, capillary electrophoresis, ELISA Familiarity with microfluidic instruments, laboratory automation, 3D printing, advanced cell models, or conjugation reactions is a plus. Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to summarize results and present findings clearly.
