Multimedia & Front-End Developer II

Job Summary Grand Canyon Education (GCE) is a shared services partner for Orbis Education. The corporate office is in Indianapolis, IN, and this is a predominantly remote position, ideally looking for local candidates that can work onsite twice per month. Responsibilities Develop a variety of interactive learning objects for online training. Modernize and evolve learning platforms. Ensure quality, stability, and continuous improvement. Front‑end architecture and system design. Platform integrations and data exchange. Interactive and immersive development. Competencies Modern JavaScript (ES6+) React (with modern tooling such as Vite) State management patterns and component architecture API integration (REST) Proficiency in SQL and relational database concepts Build tools, linting, and modern development workflows Ability to leverage AI‑assisted development tools to improve code quality, validate logic, and increase development efficiency while maintaining strong engineering judgment Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs Write straightforward, clean, and commented code Understand cross‑browser and mobile compatibility Excellent teamwork, communication, and organizational skills Excellent time‑management skills in handling multiple priorities with individual deadlines Adapt to a rapidly changing environment and work creatively and accurately with minimal supervision Communicate continually with the project teams – explain progress on the development effort Experience 4+ years of JavaScript, React, HTML5 & CSS development Experience and aptitude for developing web‑based training using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and/or other appropriate programming languages and tools Experience utilizing and managing relational databases (MySQL, SQL Server) Strong experience developing, programming, and supporting content for learning management systems Ability to implement third‑party APIs for LMS referencing LMS documentation Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator Experience with C# is a plus Education and Certification Bachelor’s degree or any combination of equivalent certifications, experience and/or education in Computer Science, Software Development, or a related field and 4+ years of work experience in a related web development position. Salary $70,000‑$90,000 annually DOE.
