A beacon of Black joy and self-determination, we have nurtured over five generations of Black San Franciscans. We prioritize serving the Black community, and we welcome all individuals from all cultures and ages, from 0 to 99, who walk through our door. We are one of the few urban spaces where anyone in the community can access comprehensive services, ranging from hot meals to childcare, academic support, and senior services.
Summary:
Booker T. Washington Community Service Center (BTWCSC) seeks a highly reliable, collaborative, professional, and results-driven Manager of Youth Success to support our dynamic, multi-service organization in meeting both short-term and long-term operational goals while sustaining continued growth. BTWCSC is a proud partner site of theChildrens Defense Fund (CDF) Freedom Schools program, a nationally recognized model that centers literacy, cultural identity, leadership development, and youth empowerment. Core components of this modelincluding the Integrated Reading Curriculum (IRC) and daily Harambee (community-building gatherings rooted in African traditions)are embedded into our youth programming to foster academic growth, positive identity development, and a strong sense of community.
The Manager of Youth Success will be part of the Youth and Transitional Age Youth (TAY) Team and will be responsible for managing the programmatic functions for K-8 youth programming at 2 sites in the Fillmore Western Addition- Ella Hill Hutch CSC and Hayes Valley Clubhouse. BTWCSC consists of 2 community centers with gymnasiums, a childcare facility, garden, community programs space, music studio, administrative offices, and 50 units of service-enriched permanent affordable housing, for low-income families, seniors and youth transitioning from foster care and homelessness at 800 Presidio, which is a 72,000 square foot facility.
This newly created role will oversee all K8 programming at BTWCSCs expansion sites at Ella Hill Hutch Community Center and Hayes Valley Clubhouse, ensuring alignment in program quality, staffing structure, and implementation across sites. The Manager will be responsible for ensuring that programming at these sites reflects the same standards of excellence, culturally relevant practices, and fidelity to the Freedom School model as the main BTWCSC site.
Under the leadership of the Associate Director of Expanded Learning & Enrichment, this role is responsible for ensuring strong day-to-day operational effectiveness, program success, and coordination of activities across the Center, including youth programming, and events. The Manager will also contribute to the financial sustainability of BTWCSC by supporting efficient operations and resource management.

The Manager of Youth Success will oversee systems for tracking student success, including attendance, academic progress, reading assessments, social-emotional learning (SEL) outcomes, and program participation. This includes ensuring accurate data entry and reporting through platforms such as Airtable and DCYF CMS, analyzing trends to inform program improvements, and using data to drive decision-making, strengthen outcomes, and meet grant and organizational performance goals.
As part of BTWCSCs commitment to high-quality youth development, the Manager of Youth Success will engage in ongoing professional development aligned with the CDF Freedom Schools model, including participation in national training held annually from May 30 through June 7 in Tennessee.
