JOB OPENING: Development and Alumni Coordinator : Alumni & Friends of LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts in NYC (A&F) is seeking to hire a Development and Alumni Coordinator. POSITION TITLE: Development and Alumni Coordinator NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION: The Development and Alumni Coordinator will report to the Director of Development and Alumni Affairs and play a vital role in supporting the organization's fundraising operations. This position will serve as the primary administrator of the organization's CRM and oversee donor data operations, providing accurate, timely reporting and donor recognition that supports the Development team's strategy and decision-making. RESPONSIBILITIES: Serve as the primary CRM administrator for the fundraising team, managing data integrity, user support, and system troubleshooting Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor and alumni records and perform donor data operations including report preparation, gift processing, donor tax receipts, and acknowledgements Support data hygiene projects (deduplication, updates, list cleanup) Build and run queries and reports to support fundraising, stewardship, and board reporting needs Create and provide reports that analyze donor and gift giving trends Reconcile gift and financial records with accounting and finance on a regular basis Support monthly financial preparation and reconciliation with the organization's accountant and treasurer Assist with the scholarships and grants process for summer study and end of year awards, including processing payments, overseeing and forwarding awardee thank you notes to respective donors and communicating with awardees as needed Act as a key team member on all aspects of planning and logistics for alumni reunions Support mailings, segmented lists, and data exports for events, appeals, and campaigns Responsible for office, website and technology maintenance Respond to alumni, teachers, and student questions and/or direct them appropriately to ensure effective day-to-day operations Perform other related duties as assigned or requested ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent required Minimum of 3 years of related experience in database administration, development operations, or a related field; nonprofit or education fundraising experience preferred Experience with a CRM/donor database system (Abila experience a plus) Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of basic fundraising principles Excellent writing, editing, research, customer service and interpersonal skills Extreme attention to detail and an eye for accuracy Strong organizational and time management skills with an ability to prioritize Must possess a high level of professionalism, creativity and flexibility Exceptional proficiency with computers and computer software is required, including an ability to learn new software Must be a self-starter and motivated, able to lead projects and manage multiple and complex assignments independently and as part of a team Must have natural ability to handle confidential matters and maintain confidentiality Available to work additional evening and weekend hours when necessary Must be passionate about the arts and have a demonstrated ability to work harmoniously in a multicultural, diverse community COMPENSATION: $55,000-$62,000/annually plus benefits We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity.
