Our students are high-achieving, engaged, motivated, and expect quality instruction from their teachers. Essential Duties: * Become an integral part of the Horizon Honors community, supporting the Horizon Honors Mission Statement, Goals and school philosophy * Design and plan effective lessons targeting individual student academic levels * Implement effective instruction for all students, using student data to drive decisions * Team teach with colleagues * Develop and implement curriculum and standards at designated team/content level * Collaborate with the grade level/content teams to plan curriculum and units * Create a safe, positive learning environment for all students * Use effective problem-solving skills with students, parents, and colleagues * Communicate professionally and effectively and in a timely manner with students and their parents * Work in a team environment with teachers and/or teacher assistants to support student academic and social growth * Participate in weekly meetings including staff meetings, coaching sessions, collaborative planning and ongoing professional growth * Assigned supervision duties during the school day and outside of school hours * Other duties as assigned by the principal Supervisor: School Principal Qualifications: * Arizona Teaching Certificate or other Highly Qualified criteria * Meet the requirements of Arizona's Highly Qualified status Compensation: * Depending on experience Physical Demands: These physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of a teacher.
