Our benefits package consist of the following items: a variety of health insurance plans with employer contribution, including dental and vision insurance, Telehealth, a $50,000 life insurance policy with optional additional coverage, PERA retirement contribution, supplemental insurance options including pet insurance, no match tax shelter account options including 401K, 457(b), 403 (b) and Roth, before tax deductions and flexible spending options, paid leave options and holidays based upon the position, Employee Assistance Program (EAP).Added perks: Great people to work with, professional development and advancement opportunities, and multiple wellness programs and incentives.Summary of Position: Under supervision, to maintain an assigned school facility, group of buildings, or office space in a clean, orderly, and secure manner following a predetermined schedule; and to do other related work as required.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Sweeping, mopping, stripping, waxing, and sealing floors.Vacuuming rugs and carpets.Dusting, washing, and polishing furniture and woodwork.Emptying and cleaning waste receptacles, including trash barrels.Cleaning restrooms, locker rooms, and showers.Washing windows and walls, polishing metalwork and cleaning dry erase and chalkboards.Moving and arranging furniture and equipment in preparing multipurpose rooms or classrooms for special events or meetings.Replacing light bulbs and lighting tubes.Cleaning window coverings, such as drapes and blinds.Removing paper and other debris from school grounds, walk areas, and the areas adjacent to the school facilities.Sweeping concrete surfaces adjacent to the school buildings.Performing emergency cleanup service resulting from breakage, vandalism, spilling, and illness.May raise and lower flags, and lock and unlock gates and doors, and set security systems.Assist in receiving and distributing supplies and equipment.May perform minor maintenance tasks in keeping assigned areas safe and operational.May occasionally perform routine ground maintenance functions.Assist in reporting and preventing facility vandalism.Education: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.Experience: Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and skills is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and skills would be: Six months of experience involved with the care and cleaning of buildings and facilities.Knowledge of: Basic cleaning methods, procedures, and techniques Cleaning materials, supplies, and equipment Safe working methods and procedures Ability to: Perform moderately medium to heavy manual activities Efficiently and effectively use cleaning materials, supplies, and equipment Understand and carry out oral and written directions Establish and maintain cooperative working relationshipsPhysical Requirements: The physical requirements indicated below are examples of the physical aspects that this position classification must perform in carrying out essential job functions. Persons performing service in this position classification will exert 5 to 75 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Must have an adequate range of motion in the upper extremities. This type of work may involve ascending and descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and ramps, and will involve moving or a stationary position for extended periods. Perceiving the nature of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, providing oral information, the manual dexterity to operate equipment and use hand tools, and handle and work with various materials and objects are important aspects of this job. Exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions caused by weather may occasionally be experienced.
