Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician
Job Description
The Quality Assurance Technician ensures that manufactured components meet precise specifications by performing detailed inspections and finishing operations. This role uses a variety of inspection tools and equipment to verify product quality, removes burrs and imperfections, and supports a strong safety culture within a clean, modern manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Use inspection equipment accurately and competently to verify product quality, including micrometers, air gauging, optical comparators, refractometers, calipers, go/no-go gauges, thread gauges, and plug/pin gauges.
- Perform finishing operations such as polishing, washing, tumbling, bead blasting, honing, assembling, and deburring parts as needed according to job requirements.
- Consistently repeat finishing and deburring processes to ensure all parts are free of burrs and meet quality standards.
- Recognize, locate, and carefully remove burrs and other imperfections from components using hand tools and appropriate techniques.
- Regularly use a microscope to inspect small features, verify quality, and identify defects on components.
- Apply consistent fine motor manipulation to handle and process small or delicate parts during inspection and finishing operations.
- Exhibit a working knowledge of health and safety practices and actively contribute to maintaining and improving the safety culture.
- Identify opportunities for safety and process improvement and take appropriate action before problems occur whenever possible.
- Immediately report potential hazards, unsafe working conditions, unsafe equipment, unsafe acts, and any injuries.
- Follow established procedures and work instructions to maintain quality, consistency, and compliance in all inspection and finishing tasks.
- Collaborate with team members in manufacturing and assembly to ensure that quality standards are understood and consistently met.
Essential Skills
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment related to machine trades.
- Hands-on experience with secondary operations and assembly in a manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency in using micrometers, air gauges, optical comparators, refractometers, calipers, go/no-go gauges, thread gauges, and plug/pin gauges.
- Demonstrated experience in deburring components using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Ability to perform consistent fine motor manipulation for handling and finishing small or intricate parts.
- Regular microscope experience for detailed inspection of components.
- Foundational quality assurance and quality inspection experience in a production environment.
- Working knowledge of health and safety practices in a manufacturing facility and commitment to safe work habits.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in finishing or secondary operations such as polishing, washing, tumbling, bead blasting, and honing.
- Assembly experience within a manufacturing or medical device environment.
- Comfort using hand tools for deburring, finishing, and assembly tasks.
- in medical or precision manufacturing environments is beneficial.
- Ability to identify process improvement and safety improvement opportunities.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency across repetitive tasks.

Work Environment
You will work in a clean, updated manufacturing facility with roughly 100 employees, providing a professional and organized environment. The role involves day-shift work in a production setting that uses precision inspection tools such as micrometers, air gauges, optical comparators, refractometers, calipers, go/no-go gauges, thread gauges, plug/pin gauges, and microscopes. Daily activities include hands-on work with small components, hand tools, and finishing equipment for polishing, washing, tumbling, bead blasting, honing, and deburring. The facility emphasizes safety, quality, and collaboration, offering a structured environment where procedures and standards guide daily tasks.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40000.00 - $62400.00/yr.
