Federal Aid Administrator II-Public Health Grant Compliance

Overview The DHHS division of Public Health is seeking a Federal Aid Administrator II to oversee the distribution of federal funds to local government entities, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations. This role includes tracking grant records and handling related tasks to best serve DHHS teammates, contractors and subrecipients, with the goal of helping Nebraskans live better lives. Responsibilities Examples of work include performing desk reviews and on‑site monitoring of DHHS subrecipients, providing consultation and technical assistance to DHHS staff, contractors, and subrecipients on all grant and cooperative agreement matters, and supporting federal agency partners and internal audits. Perform desk review and on-site subrecipient review per schedule developed with FAAIII, program staff, and deputy director of finance and operations. Provide technical assistance and guidance on federal secondary functions for the grant portfolio assigned. Prepare data for grant proposals and budget development, including cost forecasting for personnel and materiel. Report on grant activity status, reviewing compliance with agreement terms and tracking payments to subrecipients and vendors. Attend grant review and update meetings; participate in conference calls and meetings with funders. Assist with APA, federal agency partners and internal audits: research, draft and compile audit responses, draft/monitor CAPs and other compliance activities. Complete special reports for division management on program compliance, risk assessment and corrective action recommendations. Requirements & Qualifications Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting or related field plus two years of significantly related work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred: 2+ years of grants management and/or administration experience. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in an allied field (public administration, public finance, accounting, economics, law, etc.). Preferred: Training or continuing education credits in grants management. Salary $23.367 per hour until June 30, 2026; $23.893 effective July 1, 2026.
