Incumbent is subject to overtime and call back as required by the center.Qualifications:Associate's degree in Radiation Therapy plus 2 years of experience in a healthcare environment OR Bachelor's degree.Current registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists as a radiation therapist with an accredited program of radiation therapy technology.Current Licensure as a Radiation Therapist with the Arkansas Department of Health.Current BLS certification or must successfully obtain certification within the first 30 days of employment.Responsibilities:Performs radiation therapy procedures according to the physician's orders and departmental guidelines, determines and prepares the setup within established parameters, calculates monitor units, and records patient treatment information in the EMR while maintaining confidentiality.Maintains and submits daily patient EMR information, charges, schedules, and census.Communicates to patients and families pertinent information pertaining to routine during radiation therapy, i.e., appointments, skin care, treatment field care, proper attire, etc.Assesses and evaluates patient needs and treatment problems, recommends intervention, and acts in accordance with physician practices and departmental policies while maintaining confidentiality.Investigates problems or unsatisfactory procedures and recommends possible solutions. Performs checks on patients' EMR for accuracy and proper documentation according to established procedures.Schedules patients for daily treatments.Maintains quality control of patient EMR and treatment parameters by implementing guidelines on a regular basis.Maintains room cleanliness, linens and needed supplies in treatment room and notifies proper personnel of areas needing attention.Performs daily warm-up and start-up procedures of equipment, quality control checks, and notifies proper personnel of equipment malfunction and/or adverse conditions.Constructs patient treatment aids, bolus material, positioning and immobilization devices and checks for suitability and accuracy.Conducts equipment cleaning and lubricating, evaluates accessories for damage, and coordinates repair.Performs checks on the patient's EMR for accuracy and proper documentation according to established procedures.Schedules patients for daily treatments.Maintains quality control of patient EMR and treatment parameters by implementing guidelines on a regular basis.Maintains room cleanliness, linens, and needed supplies in the treatment room and notifies proper personnel of areas needing attention.May perform other duties as assigned.Salary Information: Commensurate with education and experienceRequired Documents to Apply: License or Certificate (see special instructions for submission instructions), List of three Professional References (name, email, business title), ResumeOptional Documents: Proof of Veteran StatusSpecial Instructions to Applicants:Recruitment Contact Information: Please contact View email address on click.appcast.io for any recruiting related questions.All application materials must be uploaded to the University of Arkansas System Career Site Screening Requirements: Annual TB Screening, Criminal Background Check, Substance Abuse TestingThis position is subject to pre-employment screening (criminal background, drug testing, and/or education verification).
