Position Summary

The Nutrition Aide supports the daily operations of the Nutrition Services Department by maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen while assisting with food preparation and meal service.

Working under the direction of the Executive Chef, Production Coordinator, or Supervisor, this role helps ensure patients, visitors, and staff receive safe, high-quality food service in a clean and efficient environment.

What You'll Do

Food Service & Kitchen Support

• Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, cookware, utensils, trays, and service equipment • Assist with food preparation and meal assembly as needed • Support meal service and food distribution activities • Stock supplies and maintain organized work areas

Sanitation & Safety

• Maintain cleanliness throughout the kitchen and food service areas • Follow food safety, sanitation, and infection prevention standards • Operate dishwashing and kitchen equipment safely and efficiently • Assist with general cleaning and janitorial responsibilities within Nutrition Services

Team Collaboration

• Work closely with Nutrition Services staff to ensure efficient kitchen operations • Follow directions from supervisors while adapting to changing priorities • Assist with additional duties as needed to support department operations • Contribute to a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment

What We're Looking For

We're seeking someone who is:

Dependable and hardworking Friendly and team-oriented Able to work quickly while maintaining attention to detail Committed to cleanliness and food safety Customer-service focused Willing to learn and take initiative

Qualifications:

• Previous food service experience preferred but not required • Food Handler's Permit required or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire • Ability to read, write, and speak English • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment • Ability to lift, carry, and stand for extended periods
