Position Overview

We are seeking a highly innovative, systems-minded Staff Software Engineer to join our core Expert Research mission—the engineering collective driving our high-volume expert call vertical. In this senior technical leadership seat, you will take full architectural ownership across full-stack applications that power internal coordination workflows for 250+ content analysts and process 9,000+ monthly expert calls. Moving beyond basic sprint delivery, you will act as an independent technical driver across multiple squads, designing robust framework integrations, mentoring senior engineers, and contributing directly to frontends relied upon by tens of thousands of global professionals daily. This role demands an engineering veteran who thrives within complex, distributed architectures and maintains a passion for developer velocity.

Key Responsibilities

• Full-Stack Architecture & Delivery: Design, implement, and support scalable backend microservices and interactive customer-facing interfaces utilizing Ruby on Rails, TypeScript, Vue.js, and React .
• High-Frequency Code Deployments: Test, review, and ship production-grade code quickly within a continuous deployment environment that pushes live code over 10 times per day using advanced feature flags.
• Developer Productivity Tooling: Invest heavily in internal developer experience frameworks, authoring custom solutions such as GraphQL-to-TypeScript compilers and fully automated deployment pipelines.
• End-to-End Feature Ownership: Lead multi-layered systems development from inception to execution, building engine telemetry metrics, refactoring third-party data integrations, or writing shared UI component libraries.
• AI & Machine Learning Collaboration: Partner closely alongside internal ML research cells to embed next-generation language models and contextual AI capabilities directly into the application layer.
• Technical Strategy & Mentorship: Outline long-term architectural roadmaps, guide senior software engineers, and establish exceptional standards for system design, scalability, and code cleanliness across the group.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 10+ years of verified professional software development history building highly reliable, mission-critical corporate platforms or web architectures.
• Deep conceptual and hands-on grounding in computer science fundamentals, including algorithmic complexity, asynchronous design, and distributed systems.
• Demonstrated operational proficiency working with dynamic modern front-end layout tools, specifically including **React and TypeScript**.
• Proven technical leadership history running architecture planning or cross-team implementations without requiring formal human resources management authority.
• Familiarity navigating Agile software methodologies, system optimization reviews, and continuous automated verification strategies.
• Outstanding verbal, written, and cross-functional communication mechanics, optimized to drive clarity inside unstructured engineering environments.
