Pediatrician Position at Empower "U", Inc.Empower "U", Inc., a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), is seeking a compassionate and mission-driven Pediatrician to provide comprehensive, high-quality primary care services to infants, children, and adolescents. The Pediatrician will deliver patient-centered, culturally competent care to a diverse and underserved population while supporting the organization's commitment to improving health outcomes and reducing health disparities. This role includes preventive care, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic conditions, as well as participation in quality improvement, care coordination, and community health initiatives consistent with HRSA/FQHC regulations.Key ResponsibilitiesClinical CareProvide comprehensive pediatric care including: Well-child exams, immunizations, and developmental screeningsDiagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illnessesManagement of behavioral, developmental, and mental health conditionsDeliver care in accordance with evidence-based clinical guidelinesMaintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR)Provide patient and family education focused on prevention, wellness, and disease managementEnsure adherence to vaccine schedules and Florida immunization requirementsProductivity & Access to CareMaintain a daily patient volume of approximately 14–18 patients per day, based on FQHC productivity standardsEnsure timely patient access and minimize no-show rates through effective panel managementParticipate in same-day access and walk-in availability as requiredCare Coordination & Team-Based CareCollaborate with interdisciplinary teams including: Medical Assistants (MAs), Behavioral Health Providers, Care Coordinators / Case Managers, Dental and Women's Health staffParticipate in integrated care model (physical + behavioral health)Coordinate referrals to specialists and community resourcesCompliance & QualityAdhere to all FQHC/HRSA regulatory requirements, including: Sliding Fee Discount Program, Uniform Data System (UDS) reporting support, Quality metrics (e.g., HEDIS, UDS clinical measures)Participate in Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives and performance reviewsMaintain compliance with: HIPAA and patient confidentiality, OSHA and infection control standards, Florida Board of Medicine regulationsCommunity & OutreachSupport community outreach and health education initiativesParticipate in school-based or community pediatric programs as assignedPromote culturally competent, patient-centered careAdministrative DutiesAttend staff meetings, case conferences, and required trainingsParticipate in peer review and credentialing processesAssist with policy development and clinical protocol updates when neededQualificationsEducation & TrainingDoctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institutionCompletion of an accredited Pediatric Residency ProgramLicensure & CertificationsCurrent, unrestricted Florida medical licenseBoard CertifiedCurrent DEA registrationCurrent BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (PALS preferred)Required ExperienceMinimum 1–3 years of clinical experience preferred (FQHC or community health experience strongly preferred)Experience working with underserved or diverse populationsBilingual (English/Spanish or English/Creole) strongly preferred given Miami patient populationCore CompetenciesCommitment to mission-driven, community-based healthcareStrong interpersonal and communication skillsCultural competence and sensitivity to diverse populationsAbility to work effectively in a team-based, integrated care environmentStrong time management and productivity awarenessProficiency with EHR systemsWork Environment & ConditionsClinical outpatient setting within an FQHCMay require evening or weekend hours based on patient needsFast-paced environment with emphasis on access and quality careKey Performance Indicators (KPIs)Daily patient visits (target: 12–16 patients/day)Patient satisfaction scoresCompliance with UDS clinical quality measuresNo-show rate reductionTimeliness and completeness of documentationCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary based on experienceEligibility for NHSC Loan Repayment ProgramHealth, dental, and vision insurancePaid time off (PTO) and holidaysCME leave allowance and paid CME daysMalpractice insurance with FTCA coverageEqual Opportunity StatementEmpower "U", Inc. is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
