Are you ready to join the programmatic evolution? Index Exchange is looking for an ambitious Director of Product to lead our Inventory Channels team. This role is responsible for maximizing how Index connects with publishers via Prebid.js (PBJS), server‑to‑server (S2S), and SDK integrations for display and online video (OLV) auctions. Your primary focus will be mobile app monetization—driving Index’s SDK strategy, deepening our presence in the in‑app ecosystem, and ensuring Index is a top‑performing partner within mobile mediation platforms and SDK integrations. Your secondary focus will be desktop and display header bidding, with a strong emphasis on Prebid engagement and advancing Index’s client‑side and server‑side integration capabilities. What we’re looking for: Mobile Monetization Expertise You have deep experience in mobile app monetization, including in‑app, mobile web, and mobile video. You understand the mobile SDK ecosystem—including mediation platforms like AppLovin MAX, ironSource/Unity LevelPlay, and PubMatic OpenWrap SDK—and can articulate how Index can maximize its value as an integrated partner. You know how mediation layers, bidding SDKs, and waterfall setups work, and you have a point of view on where the market is headed. Header Bidding & Prebid Fluency You bring hands‑on experience with client‑side and server‑side header bidding, particularly Prebid.js and Prebid Server. You understand wrapper configurations, adapter development, auction dynamics, and the trade‑offs between client‑side and S2S implementations. You can guide both product and engineering decisions around these integrations and represent Index in the Prebid community. Ad Serving Knowledge You have strong working knowledge of ad servers—particularly Google Ad Manager—and understand how they interact with SSPs, header bidding wrappers, and direct‑sold campaigns. You know how line item setup, priority, and pricing rules affect auction outcomes and publisher yield. Strategic, Analytical, and Customer‑Centric Thinker You excel at aligning product strategy with business outcomes. In a backlog full of ideas and competing priorities, you identify what truly matters. You balance short‑term value and long‑term vision, weighing revenue drivers, serviceability, and engineering investments with confidence and clarity. You’re comfortable writing SQL to dig into large datasets, and you use data to convince others you’re right—because how else would you do it? Experienced Builder and Scaler You’ve partnered closely with engineering to build and launch high‑impact products. You understand how strong API design and developer experience contribute to adoption and scale. You can coach PMs to dig deep into user needs, write crisp requirements, validate hypotheses, and drive rigorous testing and successful launches. Collaborative, Cross‑Functional Leader You’ve successfully led product teams and know how to partner across Engineering, UX, Sales, Marketing, and Services. You’re comfortable navigating ambiguity, aligning diverse stakeholders, and turning vision into execution. You will manage and grow a team of PMs, setting clear priorities and holding the bar high for quality. Deep Ad Tech & Market Knowledge You bring experience in ad tech, programmatic advertising, or data‑intensive marketplaces. You understand how auction mechanics, yield optimization, and marketplace transparency contribute to better outcomes for both publishers and buyers. You stay ahead of market trends and can translate insight into strategy. Here’s what you’ll be doing: Define and lead the vision, strategy, and execution for Index Exchange’s inventory channel integrations across mobile SDK, Prebid.js, and server‑to‑server, with a primary emphasis on mobile app monetization. Lead, mentor, and grow a high‑performing team of Product Managers focused on supply‑side integration channels and publisher connectivity. Drive Index’s mobile SDK strategy, including optimizing our presence within mediation platforms and strengthening partnerships across the in‑app monetization ecosystem. Deepen Index’s engagement with the Prebid community, contributing to open‑source initiatives and shaping standards that benefit the ecosystem. Partner with Engineering to design and deliver scalable integration solutions that maximize publisher fill rate, latency performance, and revenue yield. Engage directly with publishers, app developers, and partners to deeply understand their integration needs and translate those into impactful solutions. Own key performance metrics across integration channels, including adoption, revenue growth, latency, and transaction efficiency. Use data‑driven insights to refine strategy and prioritize investments. Work with ad serving and operations teams to ensure seamless interplay between Index’s exchange and publisher ad server configurations. Drive cross‑functional execution by aligning stakeholders across engineering, commercial, and operational teams to deliver against critical company initiatives. Champion cost‑efficiency and operational scale, identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce complexity, and improve business performance across teams. Here’s what you need: 8+ years of Product Management experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing other PMs. Deep domain expertise in mobile app monetization, mobile SDKs, and the in‑app advertising ecosystem. Strong working knowledge of header bidding (Prebid.js, Prebid Server, S2S) and desktop/display programmatic advertising. Hands‑on experience with ad servers (e.g., Google Ad Manager) and understanding of how they interact with SSP integrations. Proficiency in SQL and comfort performing data analysis to drive product decisions. Experience with programmatic ad tech platforms—SSPs, DSPs, ad exchanges—and a firm understanding of RTB auction mechanics. A track record of successful product launches in collaboration with numerous internal and external stakeholders. Experience building and shipping at internet scale. Exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership skills, with a passion for solving high‑scale, high‑impact problems. Comfortable working across time zones on a global team, with flexibility for travel. Salary: The base salary range for this role is $315,000 to $375,000. The total compensation package may vary depending on non‑discriminatory factors such as job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.
