Orthopedic After Hours Clinic NP / PA

Overview Emory Orthopedics is looking for an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to provide daytime and after‑hours care in a walk‑in clinic setting. This position follows a rotating schedule: Monday‑Friday 8 am‑8 pm or Saturday/Sunday 8 am‑5 pm. Ideal candidates will have background in general orthopedics or emergency medicine. Description Assist in the evaluation and treatment of patients. Document care delivery in patient medical records. Conduct patient interviews and document histories, psychosocial and medical issues; under physician direction perform physical examinations and specialized diagnostic or therapeutic procedures such as cast application, wound suturing, dressing changes. Assist physician in diagnosing problems, developing care plans, and prescribing treatment. Order, schedule, and/or perform laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures such as urinalyses, pregnancy tests, blood tests, and x‑rays. Communicate necessity, preparation, nature, and anticipated effects of scheduled procedures to patient. In collaboration with physician, arrange consultations or referrals to other professionals or community services. Educate patients on health habits, self‑examinations, behavior management, follow‑up assessments, at‑home care, medication, and other related issues. Work with manager to formulate professional development plan. Attend educational in‑services as appropriate. Participate in professional activities and organizations to stay current on trends, practices, and developments. Maintain accurate patient records, including assessments, interventions, and evaluations. Collect and interpret diagnostic data to implement appropriate care plans. Prepare statistical reports and analyses of research projects and investigational protocols; report progress, adverse trends, and recommendations. Train and teach other healthcare professionals, including students and residents, in techniques and procedures unique to the setting. Actively participate on organizational health services committees. Perform related responsibilities as required. Minimum Qualifications Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program. Licensed as an advanced practice nurse in Georgia by the Georgia Board of Nursing and certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent, or hold a Physician Assistant certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Licensed as appropriate in the state of Georgia. At least one year of direct experience in one or more high‑acuity clinical specialties.
