We’re looking for an experienced and collaborative Construction Manager who thrives at keeping people in sync and bringing creative solutions to unique challenges. Join our project team in Baton Rouge managing a large program of new facilities on Louisiana State University campus. This exciting and engaging project will utilize your Construction knowledge and skills to manage and construct crucially important school laboratories and classrooms which will educate the next generation. At Jacobs, you’ll work with the best Engineers and Project Managers in the business, as well as working directly with the Contractors and Architects/Engineers. As the onsite Owners Representative, you’ll be responsible for all aspects of project success, including ensuring technical performance of a project and monitoring field activities of contractors, reports on progress of the work, review design submittals, coordinate answers to RFIs, and assist in identification and verification of any required remediation activities for non-conforming work. You’ll be responsible for construction safety and notifying the Contractor of any observed unsafe practices or conditions. You’ll review look-ahead schedules with contractor’s staff, PM and others to determine upcoming work activities, testing/inspection requirements, equipment needs, coordination requirements, stakeholder permits/approvals, contract conformance, etc. You’ll manage construction through completion (Closeout) in accordance with program contract and Owner’s policies, lead the program manager’s efforts in field quality, including punch list, commissioning, and warranty processes. You'll manage project team members, provide construction oversight and resolve complex construction project related issues, play an integral role in mentoring staff, form long-term relationships with clients, contribute to program strategy development, and support program leadership. Here’s what you’ll need Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline, Construction Management, or Architecture 10+ years' experience in construction involving multiple phases of large-scale vertical building/rehabilitation projects, preferring higher education and laboratory experience Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, display leadership and resolve critical issues pertinent to our client and stakeholders, negotiate change orders, review shop drawings and as-builts. Strong working knowledge of pre-design and pre-construction, contract management, project delivery methods, building systems/components and technology, underground utility work, deep foundations, and site management and deconfliction across a busy campus. Certified Construction Manager (CCM), Project Management Professional, and/or Professional Engineer/Architect preferred Our health and welfare benefits are designed to invest in you, and in the things you care about. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
