Duct Mechanic

Responsibilities:

• Supervised by Foreman

• Perform quality and timely installation of HVAC systems

• Follow company safety policies:
  

  • Demonstrate proper use of personal protective equipment

  • Know and follow the HAZCOM program

• Present a positive image to customers, co-workers, and others on the job

• Keep work area clean

• Be willing to learn and take direction

• Attend training to improve HVAC knowledge

• Possess and properly use power tools such as:
  

  • Cordless drill

  • 3/8 drill

  • Sawzall

  • Double cuts

• Install ductwork and dampers independently

• Under supervision, assist with installation of:
  

  • Fans

  • VAVs

  • RTUs

  • Air handlers

  • Condensers

• Assist in training of Junior Mechanics and Helpers

• Be able to read mechanical blueprints, submittals, and shop drawings

Qualification:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the HVAC trade

Work Environment:

• Physical activities include:
  

  • Standing, balancing, climbing stairs and ladders

  • Walking and lifting 50 pounds or more

  • Forward and overhead reaching, pushing, pulling, and material handling

  • Kneeling, crawling, stooping, twisting, and squatting
