HR Support Staff - Telework Hybrid

Job Description and Duties

This position is located at the DMV Headquarters in Sacramento.

The Program Services and Policy Unit seeks a self-motivated, organized individual committed to excellent customer service. The Manager I provides program expertise to support staff in evaluating and improving field operations and delivers essential administrative support for the unit. Responsibilities include serving on planning committees and task forces; acting as a liaison with other divisions and agencies; assisting in developing procedures for special programs; coordinating personnel attendance and phone coverage; and preparing correspondence in response to public inquiries on departmental policies and customer service issues. The role also involves evaluating data, conducting statistical analyses, researching issues related to vehicle registration and driver license policies, and recommending solutions. Additional duties include legislative review an analysis, evaluating Merit Award Suggestions, coordinating the Homebound ID Program, and collecting, reviewing, and consolidating field office reports for executive management. The position requires discretion, diplomacy, and sound judgment when handling sensitive and confidential matters.

Working Conditions

Part-time telework available. Telework requires California residency. This position offers hybrid telework opportunities; however, telework arrangements are subject to change at any time based on State & departmental operational needs. Employees may be required to report to the office as necessary.

Ability to collaborate and maintain positive working relationships at all levels. 5. Excellent verbal and written communication, including editing and proofreading. 6. Commitment to exceptional customer service. 7. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. 8. Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
