Overview SENTARA WILLIAMSBURG REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER City/State: Williamsburg, VA Work Shift: Second (Evenings) Position REGISTERED NURSE – EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT Shift: 11A - 11P Employment: Full Time With Benefits Bonus: Up to $15,000 bonus to qualified RNs Requirements Education experience strongly preferred RNs with more than 1 year acute care floor nursing experience Required if no education experience Meets and maintains any requirements defined by specific specialty: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHH Education: RN Diploma, ADN, BSN or MSN Certifications and/or licensure: RN License valid to work in the State of Virginia Responsibilities and Scope The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching and health promotion, and evaluation). The RN will adhere to standards of practice and professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality, resource utilization, and environmental health). The RN provides clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards required by specific clinical areas. All direct care RNs are required to have BLS within 90 days of hire. Primary duties include assessing/admitting patients, rounding checks, administering medications, communicating with families, and ensuring overall patient care.
