Operations Planning Buyer

Primary tasks and responsibilities:

• Responsible for ordering operating supplies and packaging products.
• Purchase assigned materials to ensure supply meets production and on-time delivery requirements.
• Manage assigned supplier partnerships on a daily basis by clearly communicating expectations and monitoring compliance.
• Resolve any quality issues, credits, returns and expectations with suppliers.
• Analyze aged inventory and work with operations and warehouse to use in the plant.
• Develop proficiency in using the ERP and business intelligence tools to mine data, analyze trends, and provide meaningful suggestions.
• Use highest standard of ethics when working with suppliers and Menasha associates.
• Daily prioritization of work tasks, with the understanding that agreed upon deadlines should be met.
• Support the negotiation of material costs through lead time reduction, terms negotiations, appropriate buying strategy, rebates and cost containment outlined by corporate procurement.
• Participate actively in the management of the business through team involvement.
• Considers both short-term and long-term impact when making decisions, keeping in mind company goals.
• Cross train within Operations Planning team to provide support and coverage as needed.
• Performs other duties as requested or assigned.

Education

• High School or better

• Bachelors or better in Business or related field
