Class A CDL Local Retail Route Driver

Denali is hiring a dependable Class A CDL Local Retail Route Driver in Goodyear, Arizona. This is a hands-on, home-daily position servicing local customer locations and hauling food waste and organic materials.

Drivers should be comfortable working around strong odors, food waste, dirty containers, and outdoor conditions. This is an active driving position that requires climbing in and out of the truck, handling totes and bins, operating equipment, and keeping customer locations clean.

The ideal candidate has experience operating end-dump trailers and electric pallet jacks, maintains a strong safety record, and is willing to perform the physical work required to complete the route successfully.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle on assigned local retail routes
• Load, haul, and deliver food waste and green waste
• Complete approximately 1525 stops per day, depending on the assigned route
• Operate 30- to 45-foot open-top end-dump trailers and combination vehicles
• Service customer locations using three-yard bins and 64-gallon totes
• Operate manual and electric pallet jacks
• Use pressure washers to clean bins and containers
• Keep customer locations clean, safe, and free of debris
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Use hand tools to complete minor repairs and equipment maintenance
• Maintain the cleanliness and basic condition of trucks, trailers, and containers
• Use electronic logging devices and maintain accurate DOT records
• Complete service tickets, contamination reports, inspection forms, and maintenance documentation
• Communicate professionally with customers, dispatch, vendors, and operations personnel
• Report accidents, injuries, safety concerns, and equipment problems immediately
• Attend required safety meetings, training sessions, and operational briefings
• Use computers and mobile devices for routing, communication, training, and expense reporting
• Work additional hours when necessary to complete assigned routes

Required Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL
• Self-certified as a Non-Excepted Interstate driver with the issuing state
• Clean and acceptable MVR and PSP records
• At least 23 years old with two years of verifiable, full-time tractor-trailer experience
• OR
• At least 21 years old with one year of tractor-trailer experience and graduation from an approved truck-driving school or one year of qualifying military experience
• Stable and dependable employment history
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
• Willingness to work around strong and unpleasant odors
• Willingness to perform dirty, hands-on work
• Ability to report to work between 3:00 and 4:00 a.m.
• Ability to work 4045+ hours per week

Preferred Experience

• End-dump trailer experience
• Local or retail route-driving experience
• Electric pallet jack experience
• Food-waste, recycling, agricultural, or similar hauling experience

Physical Requirements

• Frequently lift, pull, push, or carry up to 70 pounds
• Regularly bend, stoop, twist, shovel, and reach overhead
• Pull or roll totes weighing up to 300 pounds
• Climb in and out of commercial vehicles throughout the workday
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Safely work around food waste, farms, dirty containers, and unpleasant odors
