Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurse Practitioner - UVMMC

Nurse Practitioner (FNP/PNP)

The University of Vermont Medical Center's Golisano Children's Hospital is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (FNP/PNP) to join our Pediatric Hematology/Oncology team in Burlington, Vermont.

This is an opportunity to care for children, adolescents, and young adults with hematologic and oncologic conditions while working alongside a collaborative multidisciplinary team within Vermont's only children's hospital.

Schedule:

8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

0.8 FTE (32 hours/week)

Four- to five-day work week

Potential future call requirement

Some potential weekend requirements

What You'll Do:

Provide outpatient and occasional inpatient care for pediatric hematology and oncology patients in both the clinic and Infusion Center

Manage follow-up visits, treatment monitoring, including patients enrolled in clinical trials, and symptom management

Perform occasional procedures based on education, training, and experience

Review and order chemotherapy protocols

Educate patients and families throughout their care journey

Coordinate care with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary team members

Participate in telemedicine visits as appropriate

Experience:

Pediatric Hematology/Oncology APP experience preferred

Pediatric and/or Oncology RN experience preferred

New graduate Nurse Practitioners with relevant pediatric and/or oncology experience will be considered

Strong interest in caring for pediatric patients and families

Commitment to collaborative, patient- and family-centered care

Education & Licensure Requirements:

Completion of an accredited Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program

Current National Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (FNP or PNP)

Active Vermont APRN license or eligibility for Vermont licensure

Eligibility for New York licensure

Eligibility for prescriptive authority

Eligibility for DEA licensure

Telemedicine:

Telemedicine is a component of this role. Providers must be eligible to obtain both Vermont and New York licensure to support virtual care for patients located in New York.
