divh2Nursing Assistant Registered (Nar) Position/h2pThe NAR/CNA is responsible for assisting the professional nurse in the delivery of care. Under the direction of the professional nursing staff, the NAR provides the personal care for assigned residents, patients or clients and is an integral part of the care planning, assessment and recordkeeping systems./ppJob Duties The essential functions of this job are identified with an asterisk (*) at the end of the bullet point./pulliAssists with the needs and comfort of patients including hygiene, nutrition, activity and treatments in accordance with the policies and procedures of Mille Lacs Health System./liliObserves patients and communicates changes and/or needs to the Team Leader./liliDocuments patient cares in the Electronic Medical Record. Cares include, but not limited to; vital signs, intake/output, meals and activities of daily living./liliMaintains a safe, clean environment for patients and staff by following infection control and safety policies and procedures./liliSupports and upholds the Patients Bill of Rights./liliPerforms all duties as assigned./liliAlways uses appropriate lifting techniques when lifting/moving patients/equipment./liliUses Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) that is appropriate for the given task./liliReports accidents or incidents and safety hazards promptly./liliCleans equipment, spills, etc. as necessary./liliAlways uses appropriate equipment (i.e. transfer belts, Hoyer) when moving patients./liliEnsures patient privacy by knocking, pulling privacy curtains draping patient./liliEnsures the dignity of the patient by consistently using respectful language./liliKeeps patient rooms neat, clean and orderly without prompting. Keeps kitchenette neat, clean and stocked without prompting.
