Senior Associate Attorney

Job Overview A law firm seeks a senior-level associate attorney in Pleasanton, CA, with a focus on real estate, construction, and civil litigation. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience, with 10+ years preferred, to manage a diverse caseload and actively participate in courtroom proceedings. Duties Manage an active caseload including lease reviews, landlord-tenant litigation, and real estate disputes. Appear regularly in court for hearings, depositions, and trials. Draft and review legal documents with precision and clarity. Conduct legal research to support case strategy and client advisories. Prepare for trial, including organizing evidence and coordinating witness testimony. Communicate directly with clients to provide updates and clarify legal options. Work closely with paralegals and support staff throughout case development. Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings. Stay current on statutory and case law developments. Requirements Minimum 5 years of experience in real estate, construction, or civil litigation; 10+ years preferred. Substantive experience in real estate transactions and disputes, construction law, and general civil litigation. Comfortable and confident in the courtroom with genuine trial and hearing experience. Proven legal research experience using LexisNexis and Westlaw. Strong drafting skills for contracts, motions, and pleadings. Effective negotiation skills and courtroom advocacy experience. Clear, client-facing communication skills. Ability to manage a caseload independently in a fast-paced environment. Working knowledge of California procedural law and court rules. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Certifications Active license with the California State Bar. Skills Strong legal research and drafting skills. Effective communication and negotiation abilities. Proficiency in managing complex caseloads.
