Overview As a home health aide with Amedisys, you’ll provide essential support to patients in their homes, helping them maintain health and dignity while supporting their families. Pay & Benefits Pay $19–$24 per hour Mileage reimbursement Benefits Choice of PPO or HSA medical plans with free telehealth Paid time off Up to $1,000 in free healthcare services with the Amedisys HSA plan Up to $500 in wellness rewards for activities (e.g., spa, gym, sports, hobbies, pets, and more) Mental health support with up to five free counseling sessions through the Employee Assistance Program 401(k) with a company match Family support (infertility treatment coverage, adoption reimbursement, paid parental and family caregiver leave) Fleet vehicle program and mileage reimbursement Benefit eligibility can vary by position and shift status Responsibilities Obtain temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and respiration measurements Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment Assist patients with mobility, bathing, hygiene, and toileting Prepare and provide meals or assist with meal preparation Perform light homemaking and other environmental services Observe, report, and document changes in patient status Understand basic elements of body functioning and report changes as indicated Recognize emergency situations and implement appropriate emergency procedures per care plan Follow care center procedures regarding infection prevention, hazardous waste handling, and safety measures Follow written instructions for personal care in accordance with the plan of care Assist patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurses or therapists Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Current state certification or registration as a nurse assistant per state requirements Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) experience within the last two years; if more than two years, complete additional training and competency program before providing services Must successfully pass the competency program of the care center Current CPR certification Amedisys is an equal opportunity employer.
